LM型基本型梅花形弹性联轴器主要由两个带凸齿密切啮合并承受径向挤压以传递扭矩，当两轴线有相对偏移时，弹性元件发生相应的弹性变形，起到自动补偿作用。

LM型基本型梅花形Flexible coupling是由两个带凸爪形状相同的半联轴器和弹性元件组成，利用梅花形弹性元件置于两半联轴器凸爪之间，以实现两半联轴器的联接。   换弹性元件时两半联轴器需要沿着轴向移动才能达到   换弹性元件的目的。所联两轴的许用相对位移，除与尺寸大小有关外，还与弹性元件工作部分的形状有关，对于与炬形凸爪接触的梅花形弹性元件，许用径向位移△y为0.2mm，角位移△a为1.5°，对于与圆弧形凸爪接触的梅花形弹性元件，许用径向位移△y为0.5~1.8mm，许用轴l向位移△x 为2~5. 0mm，许用角位移△a为1.0°~2.0°。当工作需要提高补偿性能，而对承载能力允许稍有降低时，亦可制成沿轴向为鼓形的梅花形弹性元件，或将两半联轴器的凸爪制成中凸形式。

LM型基本型梅花形弹性联轴器的适用范围

1.LM型基本型梅花形弹性联轴器主要由两个带凸齿密切啮合并承受径向挤压以传递扭矩，当两轴线有相对偏移时，弹性元件发生相应的弹性变形，起到自动补偿作用。 　

2.LM型基本型梅花形弹性联轴器主要适用于起动频繁、正反转、中高速、中等扭矩和要求高性的工作场合，例如：冶金、矿山、石油、化工、起重、运输、轻工、纺织、水泵、风机等。工作环境温度 -35℃～+80℃，传递公称扭矩25～12500Nm，许用转速1900～15300r/min。

LM型基本型梅花形弹性联轴器特点：结构简单，径向尺寸小，重量轻，转动惯量小，适用于中高速场合，工作稳定，具有良好的减振、缓冲和电绝缘性能。具有较大的轴向、径向和角向补偿能力，高强度聚氨酯弹性元件耐油，承载能力大，使用寿命长，联轴器无需润滑，维护工作量少，可连续长期运行。零件数量少，外形尺寸较小，弹性元件制造客易，承载能力也较高，但装拆时，需要沿轴向移动两半联轴器。

LM型基本型梅花形弹性联轴器主要适用于对补偿性能，缓冲减很要求不十分苛求的传动轴系，尤其是中小功率的传动中。起动频繁、正反转、中高速、中等扭矩和要求高性的工作场合，例如：冶金、矿山、石油、化工、起重、运输、轻工、纺织、水泵、风机等。公称转矩为25～12500N.m，许用转速为15300～1900r/min，轴孔直径为12～160mm。
